校長的話 / Welcome

August 25, 2015

Dear Ming-De parents, teachers and students:

Welcome back to a new school year!  I hope you all are having a wonderful summer and are looking forward to a productive and exciting year at Main Line Chinese School. The staff and I are getting ready to welcome students back to school on Saturday, September 10th  at Radnor Middle School.  I want to extend a special greeting to new students and families.

Our team of teachers is diligently planning for your arrival and is looking forward to seeing you soon. Our first school day will begin with students reporting directly to their designated classroom at 9:00 am. Class lists will be posted at the school entrances and at each classroom. Textbooks and folders will be prepared and just as a reminder, please have your child bring their own writing utensils.

This year, we plan to provide teachers with more supplement materials to help them develop curriculums that are interesting and engaging. For instance, we will supply teachers with materials and ideas for culture class as well as for SAT and AP Chinese preparation for the upper grades.

We operate with limited resources. Therefore it is a challenge that requires everybody’s participation in order to succeed. The faculty of Ming-De Chinese School is here to educate your children to learn Chinese language and culture. We welcome you to share your ideas and opinions with us. Let us work together!

Fang-chao and I will be available to greet you and answer any questions you might have. Please stop by the parents’ room (located on the 3rd floor) to enjoy a light snack, chat with old friends and meet new friends.

I would like to take this opportunity to share some ways our parents may help. You may donate your time, school materials, and money. There are many events we need volunteers to serve as judges, to help set up and clean up after events, and to organize and prepare variety of activities such as Halloween party, Christmas party, Chinese New Year celebration and picnic. Please also consider to join the PTA and serve on variety of PTA positions to support the school and its operations.

Enclosed are two documents for your information – teacher and staff directory and calendar for the school year.

In closing, on behalf of our entire staff, it is a privilege to serve both parents and students to provide the best possible educational experience. I deeply believe in the importance of a strong student-parent-school connection, so if you have a question, comment, or concern, please do not hesitate to contact me. Please enjoy the remaining weeks of summer and I look forward to seeing you all on September 10th.

Sincerely,

Fang-Ping Chen / Nai-Chia Lee
